Mentoring Component

The mentoring component is an integral part of the C.A.P.E. League. It is designed to provide each member with a positive adult that they can talk to, be influenced by and learn from. Selected mentors are professionals from a variety of fields who have proven to be outstanding members of the community, by way of their personal conduct and desire to help youth. Their role is to be a valuable asset to their mentees' lives, and compliment the efforts of parents, schools, and this program. Each mentor is assigned 1-3 children and meets them in group sessions within the CAPE League and personal interaction otherwise. Unlike many traditional mentoring programs, the C.A.P.E. League focuses as much on professional development as personal.

Partnerships with Concern Black Men© and the Howard University Dance Team has provided select members with additional mentors and group activities to supplement the industry mentors provided by the C.A.P.E. League.
